2015 has started off with a charge!
As Westfield Miranda is celebrating its 50th Anniversary later this year, Mr Scaffold has been requested to support them in the project of a new multi-screen Event Cinema complex needing new creation of 3 medium cinema’s & 1 Vmax Cinema.
Each of the GA Cinemas needed approx. 9.3 tonne of aluminium scaffolding to allow electricians to perform all the cabling needed and install false ceiling in the 3 cinemas, as well as other ceiling, plastering, Audio Visual and painting works.
The Vmax Cinema needed approx. 22 Tonne of aluminium scaffolding to complete construction.
Free standing scaffolding was needed to allow access to the internal roof and walls to allow no interruption to other tradespersons. A height of 12m was required to allow access to the internal roof for electrical work, which contained a 400sq metre deck area. Another deck area was created 2 metres below this to allow easy transfer from the electrical work to the putting up the false celling.
Four Days across the Four Cinemas – a big task
Mr Scaffold put 15 of our Advanced Scaffolders at the site over four days, and the project completed in 2 stages. Each stage took approximately 600 man hours.
The light weight nature of the scaffolding, and incredible strength of our ledger beams, designed and manufactured by Mr Scaffold – allowed the project to be undertaken in the tight time schedule required by our customer. The preplanning from our estimator & leading hands, prior to starting the project – also meant that our customer has engaged us to complete many other works on the same site which were not able to be completed by competitors.
The picture attached shows the Vmax Cinema with full scaffolding in place, with the 2 decks ready to go. The size and scope of the project is visible and relatable when you see the fork lift in the foreground of the picture.
