Our featured job of the month May 2004 was a quick and easy job with this frame scaffold. With easy access, and a straight wall, our guys were able to knock these two towers together in a few hours.
We used just single-width scaffolding, so as not to spill out onto the road. The 4-storey unit complex in Maroubra, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, was being painted, and so some of the parts the painters could not hit from the balconies were hit with aluminium scaffolding.
Frame (or mobile scaffolding as it is sometimes referred to) is a common and easy product to use. Simply prefabricated frames are stacked on top of each other, much like Lego, until the desired height is reached.
Our towers are rated to a height of 12m, and you can see on this job that platforms were provided at 3m, 5m, 7m, 9m and 11m with ladder access to every level. We tied in over the balconies, and shadeclothed the aluminium scaffold towers, to prevent any debris when the building was scrapped back from falling on the public.
